Happy New Year everyone ! 2012 is going to be amazingI spent New Years with some of my favorite people, I woke for church the next day and ofcourse it was an awesome service as always at The Mission Delray. Sunday we had an ASD reunion which stands for Advanced Spiritual Discipleship class. And Gods glory fell. I looked back at 2011 and was an awe of how blessed I was that year. I would love to tell you in detail exactly how amazing Sunday night was for me, but I would be writing for days lolBut I will tell you the biggest detail that impacted me the most.

I was leaving with my husband and a friend of mine came up to me and asked me if I was leaving. She said hold on ! She ran to her bag, (at this point I had no idea what she was doing) and she handed me something. With no words. I walked out to realize that it was some money I did not expect, right then and there I started tearing, I was really confused, and had no idea why she had given this to me, but all I could hear god say was sewing.

In the beginning of my business I had sewed a lot, I did a lot of photoshoots for free amongst other things as well, because well I wanted to grow, and I live by the scripture that says “you reap what you sew”. I do not deserve what I have and what my god gives me, but I am super thankful what he does for me and my husband. As I was saying before in the beginning I photographed plenty of sessions for free and one of them was my friend and her child. I photographed her babyshower, her childs first day and 2 sessionq after that. I did because I wanted to bless her.

I went back inside after feeling overwhelmed and asked her what this was she had handed me. She said she was going to start crying, and of course I was going to as well. She looked at me and said to me crying that for a long time she did not feel photogenic and that through my pictures this self confidence and beauty had arose. She felt beautiful again in photos . She was truly blessed that I had photographed her and her child because she knew she would never taken photos with him because of the way she felt. Now I tell you RIGHT NOW i’m not writing this to tell you how amazing I am, because im NOT, im writing this to you because it impacted me so much as a christian, as a friend and as a photographer.

She began to tell me how much she loved me and how much photography wasn’t just that had blessed her, but through my ministry through my photography. Which was another confirmation to a word my friend had given me that god would use me through my photography business.

Photography started out as a hobby and became my business through the will of god. Now I don’t just photograph people and their stories because I think its fun, I photograph people because of this story. I love impacting people through my lens and my heart and makes me feel like im doing something right when god uses me through it.

I know that this isn’t like any of my other posts at all, which is why I wanted to share it with you. I give God glory for all my success And because God has done so much for me, I wanted to give the opportunity to one mother who is expecting or one mother who recently gave birth for a free photo session. That is a value of $250 !   I would love to bless one mother with the joy of having those memories captured forever !
